28 MiNUTE EPiC is a real-life superhero action comedy written by Rocco Petrullo and GianCarlo Fernandez. The film will be directed by GianCarlo Fernandez. The movie is about two aimless Jersey boy best friends, who get fired from their cushy porn shop jobs and decide to become superheroes for hire in order to attain financial stability after accidentally saving someone's life. With help from a "professional" crime fighter, they discover that being a hero isn't always super.

When we decided to make an independent feature film, we knew that we could only go as far as our knowledge and resources would take us. With little money available to us, we set out to convey our story by creating quality footage with our prosumer DSLR cameras and using our combined experience to make comically truthful scenes under imaginary circumstances.

We all love superheroes, but the dream of becoming one seems just as impossible as funding and making your own film. Nonetheless, both are realistic and very possible with determination and proper support. While researching real-life superheroes, we came across actual heroes that serve and protect their cities all over this country and throughout the world. We found it incredible that some people have the courage to dress in costume and rise up against crime in the name of justice. Take a few minutes to search for real life superheroes online and you won't believe how many there are. You have got to respect that kind of enthusiasm and courage.

All of this factual information got us thinking as we began to draft our script. Why is it that superheroes do not charge for their heroic deeds? It seems like a pretty legitimate business plan - we save your life and you pay us for doing so. But the catalyst that really drove the idea home for us was finding out that there is an actual online superhero registry. Following this discovery, we began to ask ourselves questions: How would average everyday guys become superheroes? What would we wear? Who would train us? Would people pay for justice? And most importantly, who would be the hero and who would be the side-kick?

With all the superhero movies produced in recent years, we knew our take had to be unique. As a result, we decided to make a film that was funny and raw, but one that was not without a true meaning at its core. We wanted to send the message that anyone can be a hero, but even heroes are still only human.

28 MiNUTE EPiC is an ambitious project, but the good news is we were able to shoot a significant amount of test footage to prepare us for the journey ahead. In the process, we made new friends and collaborators who are helping us to obtain extras, rates on equipment we don’t own, locations, wardrobe, and so much more. We even have the help of the New Jersey Film Commission when we need them!

In the past year we wrote a budget conscious script, put together a production team, location scouted, built a fan base, shot, edited, color corrected test footage, and created original music.  Most importantly, we did this all with little or no money and very limited resources. Our goal throughout this process was to submit our film to Kickstarter accompanied by a solid pitch about the independent movie we want to make, to include why we want to make it and how it could be made on a low budget.

Contributing to this project means that you as an investor believe in this project and still believe in the power of independent cinema. We welcome the challenge of making a film that is produced by people who want to see it while fulfilling the promise of what it can be with the money that we are generously given. (WE HAVE NONE)

We’re making the film, but you’re making it EPiC. The way we see it, what’s better than 15 minutes of fame? 28!
